Present:

(Five Minute Friday)

Present: in attendance
nearby, close at hand
available
existing or occurring now

We all know it is possible to be with someone in body but not present mentally or emotionally.
Our minds have the ability to be somewhere else.
But God, the God of the universe is ALWAYS present with us.
His desire is that we become so intimate with Him and dependent on Him that we are always present with Him.

Being present with Him is an act of our will and a conscious effort on our part.
What a wonderful place to be!
Completely present, body, soul, heart, and mind
Present with the God of the impossible.
Then, we can echo the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 92:4:
You thrill me, LORD, with all You have done for me!
I sing for joy because of what You have done.

He wants to be found by us.
He wants us to seek Him.
He wants to be present in our daily activities, in our daily thoughts, in all that we are and do.

When you pray to Me, I will hear your voice and I will listen to you. Then with a deep longing you will seek Me and require Me as a vital necessity and you will find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord. (Jeremiah 29:12-14 AMP)

Time:

Five Minute Friday

Time stops for no one
It keeps going even if you need more
It seems to slow down when you want it to go faster
It seems to go fast when you desperately want it to slow down

Time keeps going
We cannot control time itself
We can only control what we do with it
How we use it

We can waste our time
We can spend our time
We can horde our time
We can invest our time
We can even take our time

But how we use our time
Can also affect the time of others
Time doesn't care how we use it
Time itself is not affected

But oh how time keeps a record
It stops for no one
It continues on
The same as always
But how you use it or don't use it
Will most definitely affect you.

First things First

FIRST:
(5 minute Friday)

How would our day turn out if first, we realized "this is the day the Lord has made"?

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

Would our worries be less if first, we thanked God for His Sovereignty and thanked Him for all He planned to do in our lives?

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6)

If first we decided to seek Him and ask for guidance on following the path He has already laid out before us would things be different?

O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. (Psalm 139:1-3)

When trouble blindside us, what would happen if before we get stuck in our heads we first simply say, "I trust You Jesus"?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

How would our world be different if we made a point to first "gird up the loins" of our mind and "seek first the kingdom of God" before automatically reacting?

Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. (Philippians 4:8)

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)
